Thank you to all who came to sail and participate in the 5th Annual Sail CF even in Malletts Bay on Lake Champlain, VT. This year brought beautiful weather and a perfect wind to complete the 5-mile chase race in roughly two hours.
We look forward to next year's event and hope you will be able to come hoist your sails to help those living with Cystic Fibrosis!
Scavenger Hunt Sail: (Start - 9:00 am) This new addition will offer families a fun and non-competative way to come join Sail CF! Sail Malletts Bay using a treasure map to pick up tokens at four points of the compass, which can then be used as chances for prize items.
Chase Race: (Start - 10:00 am; Skippers meeting on dock at 9:30 am) A 5-mile course around inner Malletts Bay will be a staggered start according to boat PHRF rating. Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place boats. No spinnakers or bloopers will be allowed. Boats may only use one headsail at a time, no larger than the maximum PHRF rated genoa. One Division for all boats.Course: Start in inner Malletts Bay heading North to mark in Niquettes Bay, round Beer Can Island, and finish line will be at MBBC. Alterations to course will be discussed at Skippers Meeting based on wind. SEE MAP BELOW
Fundraising: Awards will be presented to both the boat and the individual achieving the greatest fundraising total. We ask that the captain of each boat register their boat name as a 'team name' and encourage crew members to set up their own individual fundraising page that is linked to their 'team'
Shirts: One t-shirt will be included with the boat registration. Additional shirts may be ordered by contacting info@cflf.org.
Awards: Luncheon and awards will follow at 12:00 pm at the MBBC clubhouse.
