Yet another beautiful sunny day was enjoyed at the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT once again for the 40 and 7-mile rides this year. With over 100 people coming to participate in the 2011 event, a number of riders were able to raise over $4,200 through the online FirstGiving fundraising pages. Support came from people across the country and provides such a critical piece of this event's success!
More businesses than ever were also in support of this years ride, and we hope that you will visit their websites to show your appreciation. Support ranged from cash donations, to in-kind giving for raffle prizes and items for rider bags, to water stop locations, community promotions and in-store visibility. CFLF would like to thank several returning sponsors including the Basin Harbor Club, Ski Rack, Key Bank, North Star Sports , Green Mountain Coffee, WAGS, Hannaford, VT Coffee, Grand Union and the Ferrisburg Bake Shop, as well as welcoming some major new sponsors including 95Triple X/ WVMT 620 radio, Fletcher Allen Health Care, Home Depot, and JetBlue.
In promoting the importance of exercise in living successfully with cystic fibrosis, it is important that we share that opportunity with everyone who believes in this cause. It is the belief of CFLF that exercise and recreation are key to helping patients feel better about themselves and be more adherent with necessary treatments for ultimately living stronger, and living longer!
The CFLF would like to thank everyone who was able to attend and support this year's cycling event in Vergennes, VT. With your help, the event goal of $40,000 was so nearly reached, providing tremendous resource toward the continued mission of the CFLF.
Please come join us next year, and bring a friend for an even bigger ride!
Save the date!
